Digital commerce is increasingly playing a crucial role in supporting regional integration and connectivity efforts. ASEAN boasts the 3rd largest population in the world with favorable demographics and a sizeable, emerging middle class. In the coming years, ASEAN digital market has the potential to grow rapidly by 25 percent per year. Digitization makes intra- and inter-regional trade faster, easier and
cheaper, which will largely facilitate the development of ever-more connected and networked value and supply chains. Also, digital trade in products and services can bring the MSMEs into the regional and global marketplace. This will altogether make ASEAN more attractive investment destination and enabling business environment.
